Saturday 21st August – bike **** – Long Two rivers – Deben to the Orwell including breakfast at the water ski jetty – mainly cloudy.

Wanted to get out this morning before the forecast rain was supposed to arrive in the afternoon. A bit of a lay in first before packing our breakfast, have Weetabix will travel leaving home just before 8.30 and heading down to the prom in a rather cloudy, gloomy day with only the briefest glimpses of sun! Cycling the whole of the prom including the Fludgers and the Dip to Felixstowe Ferry. Out onto the Deben River path bumping our way to the water ski jetty, well what’s left of it as it is hanging on now and only a matter of time before the tide washes it away! Enjoy our breakfast and cuppa while watching the turns dive for fish in lovely peace and quiet with only the odd dog walker about. Well rested we continue to the second Falkenham church footpath but not before bumping into fellow windsurfer Dean Catten also out on his mountain bike and stop for ages chatting:) Then up to the church seeing another biker and chat again for ages, it has turned into a very social morning! Taking the usual footpaths across fields of crops and bridle way to Kirton, then Trimley following the tree lined avenue back to Felixstowe docks. It is here that Mag heads for home up past Morrisons while I carry onto the view point where there are very few ships in port but the dredger is busy working. Through Landguard nature reserve and home along the now busy prom for dinner with Mag. So a nice bike ride despite the gloomy weather, the rain also failed to arrive, I covered nearly 20 miles being out for 5 hours.
Spent the afternoon watching the IQ Foil championship racing in Switzerland, pretty exciting and buying another foil front wing, cant wait to give that a blast!
